OUR WORK WITH THE NEONATAL UNIT
LTR Waste (Let’s Talk Recycling Ltd) the home of the baby skip have cemented our relationship with Nottingham’s Neonatal unit and confirmed our commitment to donate £5.00 for every skip we hire out!
When planning the birth of LTR and our new baby skip, we always knew that we wanted to give something back to the community of Nottingham and Derby, who after all would be our customers and directly responsible for our growth and success.
It was John Westray’s wife Sally Ann, who suggested supporting the Neonatal units seeing as a number of our children and grandchildren were born at the Nottingham Neonatal Unit and the skip is called the baby skip.
She posed the question: would it not be fitting to support the good work the staff at the Neonatal unit do for Nottingham and Derby families?
It was agreed that from the launch of LTR Waste (Let’s Talk Recycling Ltd) we would donate £5.00 for every skip we hire and not just the baby skips but our full range of skips!
QMC and City Hospital each have Neonatal Intensive Care Units which specialise in treating and caring for premature and sick newborn babies.
The experienced neonatal team work closely with midwives and obstetricians, as well as other specialists, such as children’s surgeons and specialist paediatricians.
Each unit is divided into a number of different treatment areas depending on the clinical needs of the baby. It is not uncommon for babies to move between the units depending on their clinical needs.
Around 1,500 babies are cared for every year at the Neonatal Units at Queen’s Medical Centre and City Hospital. This includes babies born early and babies requiring requiring specialist medical care or surgery. As well as caring for premature and poorly babies, dedicated Neonatal staff ensure that parents and families also receive the care and advice they need to get them through one of the most difficult times of their lives.
LTR are proud to support such a great and vital service for all our innocent and new members of our community. Without all our support and donations they may not be able to do such a sterling and wonderful job.
LTR (Let’s Talk Recycling Ltd) will continue to donate and as we grow, our level of contributions will grow with us.
